Nadiem Promises Internet Quota of 35 GB for Students and 50 GB for Students

Subsidies are given to students, teachers, students and lecturers.

Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, stated that there would be a subsidy for internet quota for students, students, teachers and lecturers. The amount of the subsidy of 35 to 50 Gigabyta (GB) is expected to support distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. For this subsidy, Nadiem said that his party prepared a budget of Rp. 9 trillion. The subsidy will be provided for the next 3 to 4 months from the initial subsidy.

“We have received approval for a budget of Rp. 9 trillion for this year which we will mobilize for pulses or data quotas for students, teachers, students and lecturers for the next 3 to 4 months,” said Nadiem, Every month, said Nadiem, each student gets a quota of 35 GB. Meanwhile teachers get 42 GB.

There is an Additional Teacher Allowance

For students and lecturers, internet quota subsidies will be given as much as 50 GB per month. In addition, there is an additional teacher allowance with a budget of up to IDR 1.7 trillion for teachers, lecturers and professors.

“We have also secured additional recipients of professional allowances for teachers and education personnel and professional allowances, lecturers and professor allowances of Rp1.7 trillion. So the total is around Rp. 9 trillion,” said Nadiem.
