Bengkulu City Government, won three Top Busineess awards from PDAM. Bengkulu City Government won the best predicate in BUMD governance. The three awards, namely BUMD Top Builder given to Bengkulu Mayor Helmi Hasan, Top BUMD 2020 given to PDAM Tirta Dharma Bengkulu City, and BUMD CEO Tom given to Bengkulu City PDAM Director, Sjobirin Hasan.
The award was presented in a ceremonial procession that was held at the Golden Ballroom of The Sultan Hotel, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, on Thursday, 27 August 2020. The award was presented virtually by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. “BUMDs are required to be able to respond quickly and precisely, seize opportunities for innovation by utilizing digital technology so that business wheels and service functions continue,” said Ma’ruf.
The Mayor of Bengkulu City, Helmi Hasan, said that his party has a clean water supply program targeting 10 thousand families by 2023. Currently there are 3,250 families connected to the PDAM network for free. “We are already committed to how to bring happiness in the midst of society. One of them is to meet the needs of clean water, indeed there are still many of our people who do not have clean water. Then this is what we are intervening. The target is 10 thousand families and that is for the installation of the pipes for free and is financed. from the APBD and APBN, “he said.

Helmi said the program was well received by the community. People are very happy to have access to clean water for free. “We also provide clean water from PDAM for all houses of worship, be it churches, mosques, and other places of worship for free,” he said.
In addition, since the Covid-19 pandemic, the City Government of Bengkulu has made clean water free specifically for PDAM K2 category customers for one year. PDAM customers in this category have been severely affected by Covid-19.
